Till the break of day.
#pascalcampionart.

I just found this image I did a few months ago.. but never posted.
I was trying to go for colors that make a mute sound to my ears.. I know it's a weird thing to say, but colors tend to resonate with me like notes of music... I think that's why I tend to do images that reflect my emotional state actually. For this one, I was trying to go for for something different than usual, but didn't like the outcome..no matter what I tried.
Now, though, after a few months...I don't necessarily see it as such a bad attempt.. I actually see what I was trying to do... seeing this one again will probably help me try again at some point with a better frame of mind.
Finding old work is usually cringe inducing, but sometimes it's really fun!

i actually quite like this one.
it's quieter than your usual stuff.
but has a very nice tone to it.

just a quiet moment at the break of dawn with someone special. I think it turned out great!

I get what you mean in terms of relating art to music.  Like I've said before, art and music are both very near and dear to me, which is why the majority of my artwork is inspired by particular songs (and also why your artwork reminds me of specific songs!).  I love the way this image does seem hushed and quiet, like that gray space before dawn. :)

Reminds me of Rebecca Shearing's version of "Daylight" (song originally by Maroon 5): www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfwfSH…

sounds like what you're describing is a mild form of synaesthesia :)
I always love the emotion and atmosphere you capture in your work Pascal, and knowing that they tend to reflect your mood makes each one is almost a little self-portrait … which is even more special.
Thank you for sharing with us! :)

It reminds me of Break of Day by Tina Dico on Far. Nice work! I like pictures that remind me of songs. :)

I don't know how it was before, but lately you have been talking more about your art and your process and now how you compose, and I'm really glad that you do, it's interesting!

I don't see why you didn't like this at first. I like it.
Do you use any reference for you paintings, or is it all from your imagination?

Now that you mention it... Your color usage does have rather a musical quality. A good rhythm, per se....

Is it just me, or have you added more comments to your deviations recently? I'm really enjoying your musings; I don't know how to put it, it feels a bit frustrating not to have a comment by the artist. Suppose that leaves you thinking more..? :P So this is a pleasant addition!

I have a simiral feeling with languages in fact...they resonate with color for me(and sometimes taste). From the preview I actually thought it was a photograph, amazing. I really like how you textured the road and how the shadow slowly fades over the characters.

Synaesthesia?

I really like the colours, very natural and they give that early morning feeling.

It's like 'crossed senses' kind of like what you're describing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkRbeb… Like how you say colours are like sounds. To me, words are like colours, so Pascal is light orange.

ha...just googled it...interesting. I don't think I have that to that degree,  but I definitely associate colors with music.
